How to find area

Perimeter is defined as the total length of all the sides of a closed figure. It is measured in units of length, such as meters, centimetres, or inches.

The perimeter of a shape can be found by adding the lengths of all the sides. For example, the perimeter of a square with a side length of 5 m is 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 i.e., 20 m.

We can think of it like walking around the border of a park or a field—if you start at one point and walk all the way around until you return to the starting point, the distance you cover is the perimeter of that shape.
